Multi-talented award winning Ghanaian
musician-Nana Boro of ‘Ahayede’ fame has asserted that, Charter House,
the organiser of the annual Ghana Music Awards is more likely to ask for
a bribe than not on a normal day.
According to him, it’s not a matter of
insanity or coincidence that countless Ghanaian musicians such as Kwesi
Pee, Obrafour, Screw Face, Shatta Wale and C-Zar have stated one way or
other that Charter House promised them awards or asked them to pay some
sort of money before being awarded for their musical excellence.
And that, he is a product of that
Italian Mafia because someone at Charter House asked him to pay some
cash last year before he could receive just a nomination—and if he
wanted to win, he would have had to double the nomination cash.
Nana Boro who was speaking on the recent
bribery comment made by ScrewFace said; “Charter House cannot always
deny any wrong doing when this issue is raised because we all know the
truth. Talented people like me do not win awards because we are not
ready to pay. Can you imagine that I was asked to pay a bribe before
being nominated for an award?”
The Ghanaian musician added “this sort of bribery is why I am out here in the United States working hard to win the Grammy and not some paid to win Ghana Music Awards.”
