''I DON'T CARE IF I DONT WIN A TROPHY FOR GHANA, I'M JUST MAKING MONEY'' - ASAMOAH GYAN

ASAMOAH GYAN

The senior national team of Ghana including its management members have come under massive criticism for some time now as to why the team has not been able to bring ‘a tea cup’ home. Though for the past decade the Black Stars team have been showered with numerous incentives to ginger the boys to at least save the nation from its inability to win a trophy for the past 34 years now but has still not yet yielded any positive results. Stakeholders, Religious leaders and patrons have all added their voices about the inability of our senior national team not being able to win trophies for the nation.

With this issue which has been bombarding all Ghanaians for years now to our surprise when asked the captain of the team Asamoah Gyan about what he thinks about the issue, he said he doesn’t loose anything if he doesn’t win a trophy for Ghana and what he is concentrating on now is making money which he can benefit after his active football career.

‘’For me I don’t care if Ghana wins a trophy or not because at the end of the day it’s the money I get that interest me most. After retiring from football I will not eat trophies so currently I’m concentrating on making more money not thinking of how to win a trophy for the nation’’ he said Asamoah Gyan who currently plays for Shanghai SIPG F.C is reported as the sixth highest earning player in the world with a weekly net of £227,000.
