Recent increment in fuel prices by the government seems not to have gone
down well with several Ghanaians, especially the average Joe in the
street, since all and sundry are complaining bitterly. The rich, the
poor, the strong, and the infirm are all whining.
The founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministry International, Nicholas
Osei, popularly known as ‘Kumchacha’ has also joined the tall list of
individuals who are pleading with the government to reduce fuel prices
since it’s affecting their various businesses.
According to the self-styled man of God, the increment in fuel prices
has affected the offerings he get at church nowadays so he’s appealing
to the government to do something about it as soon as possible.
Speaking on Angel FM Wednesday morning, Prophet Kumchacha said he feeds
himself and his entire family from the earning of the church because
that is his private business. According to him, he used to get plenty
money from church members by means of collection but ever since the
government increased fuel prices, things have not been the same again.
“I used to smile after church activities because I knew I was going home
with a lot of cash but nowadays, I barely get anything. Every church
member I talk to says there’s no money because prices of items have
increased but their salaries remain the same hence they cannot risk
giving a greater part of their monies to God,” he said.
Prophet Kumchacha therefore pleaded with President Mahama to consider
his (Kumchacha) church business and reduce fuel prices so that the
offerings he get at church can go up once again.
